Esther Spurrill Jones is an award-winning author who writes both under her own name and as Esther Springer. She was born in Hastings, East Sussex, England. Her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, when she was seven years old
She grew up with a love of reading and writing, and started writing short stories at age 14. She graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in English Literature.
Her first published book was The Girl Who Owned a Mirror (1999) which became an international bestseller and was named one of the Top 10 Gifts for Teenage Girls by BookSense magazine. Her other books are The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon (2002), The Girl Who Knew Too Much (2005), The Girl Who Went to Bed for a Year (2007), The Girl Who Fell From the Sky (2009) and Never Never (2012). Her debut novel, The Girl who Owned a Mirror, won the 2005 Romantic Times Bookclub Selection Award for Best Historical Romance.
